I inherited this book from an uncle who had taken Dr. Zelinsky's linear algebra course at Northwestern University in the '70's, and it is amazingly clear and concise. I was surprised by the number of proofs - it is very rigorous with the topics it covers, and the problems are very doable. However, it only briefly touches on generalized vector spaces and does not include such concepts as almost-diagonalizable matrices. For understanding linear algebra quickly and painlessly, this book is superb. However, for a more in-depth review of the topic, this is probably not going to be a first choice.
